bags of the past

I have always had an interest in designing and creating things. I remember being 8 or 9 years old, sitting on my bedroom floor with my color pencils and my stencil fashion kit, stenciling models on my paper and drawing colorful clothing on them.
It wasn't until recently that my passion for color textures has really come alive. Through a tragic loss of a dear family member, I inherited a Jenome sewing machine with what seemed endless supply of fabrics and accessories. I started playing with the machine, after many frustrating hours and days I managed to teach myself how to bring my creations to life. The pictures below highlight some of my sweet designs.

My mom's first mother's day handbag :)

This bag was made of red flannel fleece for the lining , a medium batting and for the outer fabric a light cotton cherry print fabric.

This bag is made of pink heavier cotton for the bottom. Light cotton (black with white flowers) A pink magnetic snap and think interface.

These two bags were made out of outdoor upholstery fabric, batting and light cotton for the lining. I have had the black one for a year and it is sturdy as can be. It fits wipes a couple of small snack container and my other woman necessities . One of my favorite patterns.

This is my current and all time favorite handbag. It is not only waterproof so the fabric was a little more expensive but a lot easier to work with then the others.

I dedicate this post to Cindy you are and forever will be missed.
